Jonathan has over 25 years’ experience at the Bar and is regularly instructed in both Private Law cases and Care Proceedings.

He has a reputation for thorough case preparation and for giving advice which is not only underpinned with his detailed knowledge of the law and its procedures but also both pragmatic and straightforward. 

Coupled with his strong tactical approach, Jonathan’s approach has helped him develop strong working relationships with both is lay clients and his instructing solicitors, both of which are always impressed with his levels of communication before and after hearings.

Care Proceedings

Jonathan’s practice see him instructed to acting on behalf of vulnerable parents who may be suffering from a complex range of issues including poor mental health, substance misuse and learning difficulties. 

Jonathan has also represented many parents in proceedings involving allegations of serious domestic abuse, sexual abuse or neglect.

Private Law/Child Arrangements

Jonathan’s impressive adversarial skills are also regularly sought in cases involving settling arrangements for children and he has excelled in the cross-examination of expert, professional and lay witnesses.  He is also frequently instructed in cases where there is a conflict between adult family members concerning contact arrangements.
