Since joining chambers Gareth has developed a strong and broad criminal practice.
Gareth’s practice is predominantly defence based covering a wide range of offences including dishonesty, violence, public order, drugs and sexual offences. Examples of cases he has been briefed on include arson recklessly endangering and attempted armed robbery with a firearm. Gareth has appeared at the Court of Appeal and has recently sought leave of the single judge in relation to an appeal against sentence and an appeal against conviction.
Gareth’s prosecution work has included multi handed trials and trials dealing with serious offences such as aggravated burglary with the use of a firearm.
He prosecutes for a number of department agencies including Department of Work and Pensions, Department for Business Innovation and Skills and the National Probation Service.
