Experienced advocate at all levels of crime. Frank has been led in a number of trials including murder, historical sex abuse and undercover police operations. During 2008 has represented defendants before the Crown Court for, robbery, conspiracy to supply drugs, dangerous driving, rape, indecent assault and various offences of violence. More recently was lead junior in an 8 week trial before Southampton Crown Court in respect of sex abuse within a family during the 1970s.
Been successful before the Court of Appeal in a number of unreported appeals against sentence and in particular,
- R v Glen W. - Leave to appeal granted by full court and sentence of 5 years for sexual offences reduced to 4 years.
- R v K A Spray. - Leave to appeal granted by full court and sentence of 4 years for arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered reduced to 3 years 6 months.
- R v P C Hinsley. - Leave to appeal granted by full court and sentence of 4 years for robbery and affray reduced to 3 years and 6 months.
- R v Battershill. - Sentence of 3 years 6 months for supplying drugs to undercover police officers reduced to 2 years following the decision in Afonso.
Junior advocate in the reported case of R v Chalcraft and represented one of the defendants before the Court of Appeal in R v B and others 15th August 2008 in respect of decision to try fit and unfit defendants together.
In Family law Frank specialises in ancillary relief cases and has had considerable success in negotiating agreed orders at FDAS and FDRs. |
