Alissa Scott-Beckett

Alissa accepts instructions in the full range of matters under both the Children’s Act and Family Law Act Proceedings, in both Public and Private Law matters. Acting predominantly for the parents and children, but also for extended family members.

In criminal matters, Alissa conducts an exclusively defence practice. She has been instructed in a broad spectrum of cases, including serious violence, all levels of sexual offences and breaches of relevant orders, arson, drug offences (including importation), fraud, and aggravated burglary.

Alissa is particularly experienced in dealing with clients suffering all degrees of mental health problems or low cognitive functioning, including those clients requiring the assistance of an appointed advocate. Her knowledge of this area is furthered by her experience in representing clients at Mental Health Review Tribunals.
